Wednesday - Iowa | Iowa City | Iowa City Press Citizen | 1924-11-19 DEATH STRIKES TWO FAMILIES JOHN WHITE, 52, DIES AT SOLON; FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT GOODLAND, MINN.

Death has brought sorrow twice within a brief period to two estimable Johnson County families.

Mr. John White, aged 62, died at his home at Solon at 7:30, last night following an extended illness.

Surviving are his wife, son Lloyd of Cedar Rapids, two brothers, George and James, of Solon, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Wirtner, also of Solon .

Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o'clock tomorrow and will be in charge of Rev. J. Denman of Iowa City. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.

The worthy octogenarian had many friends, whose hearts will be made heavy by announcement of his death - and by the dual sorrow that has come to the Whites and others, because of Mr. White's death and that of a kinswoman.
