Terry D. Alderman, 51, of 221 Oberlin Street in Iowa City, died of cancer on Sunday, November 17, 2002 at University of Iowa Healthcare.

Services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 1:00 PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Pastor Tim Zimmermann will officiate. Burial will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery near Brighton in Jefferson County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to The National Prison Fellowship Fund.

Terry was born September 11, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Dale & Phyllis (Sanders) Alderman. He worked in construction and was an over the road truck driver. He married Karen Taglauer on May 25, 1986 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife Karen of Iowa City; a daughter Jennifer Alderman and his parents, Dale & Phyllis, all of Des Moines; four grandchildren; four brothers, Mike Alderman, Ted Alderman & his wife Vicki, Gary Alderman and Randy Alderman, all of Des Moines; two sisters, Penny Brenizer & her husband Arnie, Rosie Archer & her husband Jack and his paternal grandmother, Esther Alderman, all of Des Moines and a number of nieces & nephews.
