Jacob Kessler passed away at his home here at 8 o'clock Thursday morning, death being due to a paralytic stroke. Mr. Kessler had been in poor health the past year or more and was 80 years of age. He was one of the early settlers that settled in this part of Johnson County, having resided on his farm two miles west of here until about five years ago when he retired from active farm life and moved to Solon. Suriving are his widow, a daughter by a former marriage, Mrs. Ben Cambridge, six sons, Leo, Henry, Andrew, John, Robert and Everette and two daughters Mrs. Helbert Kasper and Mrs. Roy Connelly. Funeral services were held Saturday at 9:30 at St. Mary's church, interment in the nearby cemetery.
