Kenneth Ray Bohling, 63, of Solon, formerly of Iowa City died at the Solon Nursing Care Center Monday, November 4, 2002, following a lengthy illness.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2002, at 1PM at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City with Rev. Renee Lunemann officiating. Friends may call after 11AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. A reception will follow at the Solon United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will also be held Saturday, November 9, 2002, at 1PM at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette, Wisconsin. Burial will be at the Amberg Cemetery, Amberg, Wisconsin.

Memorials may be directed to the Solon Care Center.

Ken was born December 9, 1938, in Pembine, Wisconsin, the son of Wilbur and Dora Collette Bohling.

He was a 1957 graduate of Marinette High School, Marinette, Wisconsin and had served in the National Guard. Ken had been employed by the Monsanto Company in Muscatine until his retirement in 1990. He resided in Wapello, Iowa, for over 27 years, where he was active with the Wapello Volunteer Fire Department. Ken moved to the Iowa City and Solon area in 1994.

His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and attending fish fries.

He is survived by his three children,Kenneth Cliff Bohling and his wife Jackie of Solon and their children, April, Matthew, Danielle, Brooke and Whitney, Cindy Evans and her husband Randy of Iowa City and their children Nic, Mitch, Natalie and Andrew, Terry Bohling and his wife Vonda of Bonaire, Georgia, and their child, Courtney.
Two sisters, Judy Anderson and her husband Carl of Menominee, Michigan, and Sue Lorenz and her husband Bill of Peshtigo, Wisconsin, and one brother, Marvin Bohling and his wife Jo of Richmond, Washington. Three step-daughters and their children, Margie Wollenhaupt and her husband Kent of Wapello, Jackie Bohling and her husband K. Cliff of Solon, Iowa, and Melanie Paarman and her husband Murray of Stockton, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry.
