Dorothy M. Wegman, 95, of Bickford Cottage, Iowa City, died Saturday, October 19, 2002, at her home following a brief illness.

A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, where the family will greet friends after 9:30AM. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Wegman was born on February 7, 1907, in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Storch Sievers. She married Clarence M. Wegman on February 16, 1927, in Onawa, Iowa.

She was a graduate of Carroll High School and attended Coe College and Northwestern University. Dorothy had lived in Sarasota, Florida for 30 years, where she was a realtor. She retired in 1994 and moved to Iowa City in 1996 to be close to her family.

She had been a member of the Unity Church, the Yacht Club and the University Club in Sarasota, Florida.

She is survived by her daughter, Doris Marchael and Pat Foster of Iowa City and her children Tom, Paul and Erik; her son, Tom Wegman and his wife Kathleen of Iowa City and his daughter, Syril; her daughter-in law, Patricia Wegman of Brighton, Colorado, and her children Robert, Carol, Mike, Julie and Diane; and one sister, Mabel Frank of Bradenton, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Richard, one grandson, Kyle, and seven brothers and sisters.
