David D. “Dave” Steve, 64 of 2 Woodland Dr. NE, Iowa City, died Saturday, October 12, 2002 at Mercy Hospital after complications from pneumonia.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday 9:00AM at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church with Rev. Rudy Berndt officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00PM at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque, Iowa. Dave was born February 2, 1938 the son of Michael D. and Elsie (Burkhart) Steve in Dubuque, Iowa. On May 11, 1968 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Nolan. He was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. He attended typewriter School in Springfield, Missouri. In 1958 he moved to Iowa City. Since 1970 he has been the Owner and Operator of Steve’s Typewriter and Office Furniture. Dave was a proud, Loyal Hawkeye Fan and loved to attend as many events as he could with his family and friends. He was a member of the Moose and past member of Old Capitol Kiwanis.

He is survived by two children, his Daughter Nicole Schrock and her husband Monte of Iowa City, Iowa and by his son, Vern Steve and his wife Roxanne of Iowa City, Iowa. His Former wife, Kathleen Steve of Iowa City. Three grandchildren, Grace and Benjamen Steve, and Ainsley Schrock. And; three brothers, Burt Steve and his wife Maxine, Morris Steve and his wife JoAnn, and Russ Steve all of Dubuque, Iowa. One sister, Dorothy Kass and her husband Raymond of Waterloo, Iowa.

His parents, two sisters, Lois Felderman and Mary Thiesen and two brothers, Al and Carl Steve preceded him in death.
