Wanda B. Demory, 86, of 321 Court Street Place in Iowa City, passed away Monday, February 26, 2007 at Windmill Manor in Coralville after a short illness.
Services will be held Friday at 12:30 pm at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Iowa City with Reverend Paul Akin officiating with a luncheon to follow. Donations may be sent to Iowa City Hospice. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda was born May 14,1920 in West Liberty, Iowa, the daughter of William & Nellie (Bates) Sanger and moved with her family to Iowa City at an early age. She married Carl "Jud" Demory on February 11, 1942 in Des Moines. The couple had been married for 65 years.

Wanda was a 50 year member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa City and worked at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics until retiring in 1982.
She had a love for animals; enjoyed gardening and the music of Dave Zollo. Wanda was an independent-minded woman who was not afraid to stand up for what she believed in and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her..
Survivors include her husband Carl; daughter, Diane LaDuke of Urbana, Illinois and a son Dan Demory(Joan) of Iowa City; four grandchildren; Denise LaDuke-Skay(Curt) of Iowa City, Derek LaDuke(Joanne) of Lemont, Illinois, Danielle Ruth (Alan) of Fort Myers, Florida, Mark Butler of Naples, Florida; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Hunter, Olivia and Grant; four step great-grandchildren; sister in-law Ann Sanger of Claremont, CA. and many dear nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Kenneth, Merle, Lysle and Lester; three sisters;Alta, Moneta and Ardis.
