Martha C. Fieseler age 102, of 912 Iowa Ave. died at Greenwood Manor in Iowa City on Tuesday, August 27, 2002 after a long illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2002 at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City, burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorials may be given to the Martha Fieseler Memorial Fund. The Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Martha and her family.

Martha Rohr Fieseler, daughter of Henry and Maria Sonksen Rohr was born November 30, 1899 at Manning, Iowa. She attended Manning, Iowa schools, graduating in 1917. She taught rural schools for 7 year, then attended I.S.U. for a year and resumed her teaching in Gray and Irwin, Iowa. After graduating from Iowa State Teacher’s College in Elementary Education, she came to Iowa City where she taught at Lincoln, Longfellow, and Horace Mann Schools until resigning in 1964, after teaching a total of 37 years. She was married to George Fieseler on July 23, 1944 in Seattle, Washington. She was baptized in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla, Iowa and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church
in Iowa City and a member of the Ruth Circle.

Her family includes 24 several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Her parents, nine sisters, two brothers, and her husband in 1978, preceded her in death.
