Grace Marie Hill, age 92 of 701 Oaknoll Drive, Iowa City, died Monday, May 20, 2002 at the Oaknoll Retirement Residence folllowing a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend John McKinstry officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the First Christian Church in Iowa City. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Grace’s services and her family.

Grace was born July 25, 1909 in Iowa City, the daughter of Abraham and Susan (Koehn) Fout. She was a graduate of Iowa City City High School and had attended the Irish Business College in Iowa City. On June 1, 1930 she married Harold H. Hill in Iowa City. The couple made their home in Iowa City for a number of years before moving to Ainsworth. Here they resided until returning to Iowa City after living in Ainsworth for over twenty-two years. They moved to Oaknoll Retirement Residence in 1996.

She was a member of First Christian Church, O.E.S., and the White Shrine.

Her family includes her son, Howard Hill of Charlotte, NC; her daughter and her husband, Susan and Mike Henriksen of Ankeny, Iowa; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Diane Mortensen Hill, two brothers, Brinton Fout and Harry Fout; and three sistes, Clara Fout, Dorothy Fout, and Margie Brown.
