Kenneth W. Mann age 88 of Kansas City, Mo and formerly of the Cosgrove, Iowa area died following a car accident on Friday, September 27, 2002 near Kansas City. Funeral services will at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2002 at the Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, burial will be at memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Monday at the funeral home. The Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Kenneth’s services and his family.

Kenneth was born on June 11, 1914 in Pella, Iowa the son of Seth and Kate Mann; he attended Cosgrove schools and married Iona Halsch on February 16, 1938 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Iowa City. Together they farmed near Cosgrove until Iona’s death in 1998, he then moved to Kansas City to be closer to his family. He enjoyed boating, traveling with Iona, and was an avid Hawkeye football and basketball fan. Farming was his passion but his greatest love was for his family.

His family includes two sons: Steve of Columbia, Missouri: Bill of Kansas City: grandson Steve and wife Ann Mann of Wellman, Iowa, great-grandchildren: Danny, Tera and Seth, brother in-law Joe and wife Helen Halsch of Oxford, Iowa, sister in-laws Catherine Mattes of Washington, Iowa and Rita and Merv Perry of Johnson City, Tennessee.

His parents, wife Iona and two Brothers preceded him in death.
