Steven Lee Miller, age 51 longtime resident of the Iowa City area, died Monday, December 31, 2001 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following complications of a heart transplant nearly five years ago.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm Friday, January 4, 2002 at Gay & Ciha Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8pm Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in his name.

Mr. Miller was born October 16, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Marcus E. and Jenny Lee (Allen) Miller. He graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1969. He married Dianna Strand February 17, 1973 in Iowa City. For many years he worked as a welder for Iowa Illinois Gas & Electric Company before retiring due to his heart condition.

His family includes two daughters, Tami Miller of North Liberty, and Angela and her husband, Shawn McClelland of Iowa City, son, Matt R. Miller of North Liberty; two grandchildren, Chelsea and Taylor McClelland; mother, Jenny Miller of West Chester, Iowa; three brothers and their wives, Dale E. and Linda Miller of Watertown, SD, Nick L and Kathy Miller of Hills, and Lindy F. and Marilyn Miller of Terra Haute, IN; six nieces and nephews.

Steven was preceded in death by his father.
