Margaret J. Miller, 86 of 710 Kimball Avenue, Iowa City died Friday, January 18, 2002 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coralville, Iowa from complications of surgery.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at Zion Lutheran church in Iowa City with Reverend Tim Malek officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at Gay & Ciha Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. Memorial fund has been established with the Forest Legacy.

Mrs. Miller was born on September 20, 1916 in Titonka, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Mary Brown Callies. She graduated from Titonka High School and attended the University of Iowa. She married John Herman Miller in 1940 in Canton Missouri. She worked at Hometown Dairy as a bookkeeper and also did clerical work at Sears. She loved to square dance with her husband and they enjoyed outdoors and nature together. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City.

Mrs. Miller’s family includes, her three sons, Michael and his wife, Sharon Miller of Solon, Iowa, John and his wife, Jeannie Miller of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Tom Miller of Tipton, Iowa, her daughter, Sharon and her husband, Mark Kline of Iowa City, Iowa, her ten grandchildren, Shawn, Kelly, Dan, Justine, Todd, Eric, Jamie, Corrie, Devon, and John, her six great grandchildren, her three sisters, Donna Jensen, Irene Kruger, Marilyn Parson and one brother, Herb Callies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and five brothers.
