Ruth Ann Rahija 1959-2002

Ruth Ann (Bowman) Rahija, age 43 of Marengo, formerly of North Liberty, died Saturday, August 17, 2002 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following complications of breast cancer.

Memorial services will held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Rapids, with the Reverend Forrest Whitlatch officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s memory. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Ruth’s services and her family.

Ruth was born January 7, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of Lloyd and Elsie M. (Crutchley) Bowman. She graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1977 and Kirkwood Community College with a degree in nursing. She married Terry Rahija October 11, 1979 in Cedar Rapids. She has been a registered nurse for a number of years, for many at the Rose Heaven Care Center in Marengo, and most recently at Lantern Park Care and Rehab Center in Coralville.

Her family includes her husband, Terry; children, Cherish Rahija of Cedar Rapids, Holly Rahija of Cedar Rapids, Robert and Emily Rahija both at home; granddaughter, Peighton; brother and his wife, Rich and Evie Bowman of Douds, Iowa, and sister and her husband, Linda and Richard Bowman of Tiffin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
Ruth dedicated her life to caring for the elderly, who she so loved. She was loved by so many of her family and friends, and will be missed by all.
