Gene A. Rarick, 61 of 12 North Mount Vernon Drive, Iowa City died Sunday, February 3, 2002 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City following a sudden illness.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 7, 2002 at Trinity Episcopal Church with Father Peter Sanderson officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2002 at Gay & Ciha Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, Iowa. Memorial fund has been established with Trinity Episcopal Church, Iowa City and your choice.

Mr. Rarick was born on November 7, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Arnold and Mona Lindgren Rarick. He graduated from Iowa City City High School in 1959. Gene attended the University of Iowa and Iowa State University. He served his country with the United States Army in the Financial Department in Pamana during the Vietnam War. Gene married Judith K. Records on August 30, 1974 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City, Iowa. He was employed with University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in quality assurance. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, I-Club and helped with the Hospice Road Races.

Gene’s family includes; his wife, Judith Rarick of Iowa City, Iowa, his mother, Mona Rarick of Iowa City, Iowa, his step-son, Eric William Jones and his wife, Susan R. Jones of Parma Height, Ohio, his grandchildren, Johnson William, Julia Catherine, Jackson Alexander, his brother, Jay Rarick of San Migael de Allende, Mexico.

His was preceded in death by his father.
