Raymond E. Tollman, age 81 of 2701 Linden Road, Iowa City died Monday, December 17, 2001 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City of cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2001 at the First Baptist Church in Iowa City with the Reverend Wallace Bubar officiating. Graveside services will be at 3pm Friday at the Floral Hill Cemetery near Oelwein. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Thursday at Gay & Ciha Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Mr. Tollman was born July 19, 1920 on the family farm in Clark County, MO, the son of James and Martha (Duer) Tollman. During World War II Raymond served in the Army Air Corps. He married Dorothy Betts September 3, 1950 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. For over thirty-one years he was associated with Blue Cross and Blue Shield. He also worked at the First National Bank in Iowa City.

Raymond was a long standing member of past moderator of the First Baptist Church, and also a member and past president of the Sunrise Optomist Club in Iowa City.

His family includes his wife of fifty-one years, Dorothy; son and his wife, Steven and Cindy Tollman of Tucson, AZ; two daughters and their husbands, Ruth and Todd Fuller of Dresbach, MN, and Sandra and Scott Blackwell of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Cory Tollman of Tucson, AZ Catharine and her husband, Michael Jones of Torrance, CA, Lindsey Fuller of Dresbach, MN, Brett Fuller of Dresbach, MN, Sarah Blackwell of Houston, TX; and a sister, Thelma Hines of Indianola.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and her husband, Hazel and John Bever; and a brother-in-law, Cary Hines.
