Kailey Jean Vonderhaar age 7 of 933 Aspen Court, Iowa City died suddenly on Friday at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic’s in Iowa City. Funeral Services will be on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City with the Rev. Bob Dean officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorials may be given to Lemme Elementary School Art Department at 3100 Washington St., Iowa City, Iowa 52240. The Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Kailey and her family.
Kailey was born on September 18, 1994 in Iowa City the daughter of Dan and Cindy Day Vonderhaar. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and attended Lemme School in Iowa City. She loved wildlife, drawing, writing poetry and stories along with her dog Rainey.
Her family includes her parents Dan and Cindy, younger sister Marnie, Grandparents Don and Karen Day of Gilmore City, Iowa, Uncles and Aunts: Rick and Sue Day of Davenport, J’Ne and Paul Day-Lucore of Denver, Colorado, Jim and Peg Day of Bradgate, Iowa and John Vonderhaar of Dakota City, Iowa and nine cousins.
Her grandparents Jean and Betty Vonderhaar preceded her in death.
