Mary Margaret Rohret, 76, of 508 Kimball Road in Iowa City, died suddenly Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City with Reverend Jeff Belger officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. A parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 pm Friday. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or St. Mary’s Church.

Mary was born October 25, 1930 in Johnson County, Iowa, the daughter of Gilbert & Josephine (Winter) Haman. She attended schools in Cosgrove and Tiffin and married Robert L. Rohret on August 29, 1950 in Iowa City. Mary worked for ACT for 24 years as supervisor of registration, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City.

Mary is survived by her husband Bob; her sons, Charles (Christine) of Iowa City, Stephen (Sharon) of Riverside, Patrick (Lori) of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Robert (Alice) of Jesup, Iowa,
Mark (Kathy) of Portland, Oregon. Fifteen grandchildren; Amy Nolte (Nathan), Abbie Jensen (Reid), Timothy Rohret, Thomas Rohret, Adam Rohret (Ann), Karessa Schaffer (Zachary), Nicholas Howe, Michelle Rohret, Anne Klepinger (Jason), Dorinda Rohret, Brandon Dierickx, Jesse Rohret (Rachel), Brian Rohret (Marylinn), Julie Rohret, and Olivia Rohret. Three Great-Grandchildren; Elaine Klepinger, Ian Schaffer, and Lucy Nolte.
Sisters in law, Orianna Haman of rural Iowa City, Dorothy Haman and Joan Haman, both of Iowa City.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Orlo, Vincent , Richard & Robert and a sister Kathryn Fountain.
