Margaret “Mike” Barry, 91, 408 Main Street, Hills, Iowa died Sunday, March 3, 2002 at Mercy Hospital following a short illness.

Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hills, Iowa. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to7 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at Gay & Ciha Funeral & Cremation Service in Hills, Iowa with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Memorial fund has been established with Hills First Responders.

Mrs. Barry was born on June 7, 1910 in West Liberty, Iowa the daughter of Louis A. and Jessie Frances Brown Kapfer. She graduated from St. Patrick High School. She married Roy Neitge in 1928, he died in 1932, then married Gilbert Sargood in 1936, he died in 1957, she married Tom Barry on January 4, 1964, he died in 1994. Mrs. Barry worked for University of Iowa as a laboratory assistant in Serology Department. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Altar Rosary, Royal Neighbors, and volunteer at the Hills Congregant Meals.

Mrs. Barry’s family includes, her two daughters, Rita Fox and her husband, Matt of Muscatine, Iowa, Jill Phillips and her husband, Chuck of Iowa City, Iowa, her eight grandchildren, Steve, Richard, Jim, Jennifer, Jane, Patrick, Bill, and Chris, her two sisters, Mary Walton of Lone Tree, Iowa, Inez Grimm of Minneapolis, Minnesota, her brother-in-law, Lester Blick of Racine, Wisconsin, her sister-in-law, Louise Perkins of Iowa City, Iowa, her sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Barry was preceded in death by her parents, her three husbands, three sisters, Ruth, Katherine, Jean and brother, Louis.
