June M. Iverson, 76, of 926 Talwrn Court in Iowa City, died suddenly Sunday, November 19, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
in Iowa City with Reverend Kenneth Kuntz officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from
3:00 to 7:00 pm at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City – where a parish vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or St. Mary’s Altar & Rosary Society.

June was born June 15, 1930 in Richmond, Iowa, the daughter of Leo “Jim” & Helen (Welte) Keifer.
Growing up in Richmond, June graduated from Kalona High School and later received her bachelor’s degree in English & Education from the University of Iowa. She married Alvin Iverson June 14, 1952 in Richmond.

June was a homemaker and also worked as a picture framer for Ben Franklin in Iowa City and the Woodland Gallery in Coralville. During her marriage to Alvin, the couple would spend time fishing
together and June always had enjoyed the outdoors and playing golf.

Survivors include her children, Hal Iverson & his wife Renee of Nampa, Idaho,
Jane Corneils of Plano, Illinois and Jill Fleming & her husband Mark of Twin Falls, Idaho;
brother, Howard Keifer & his wife Oleta of Washington, Iowa; six grandchildren, Erin, Kari, Bradley, Brynn, Kylee & Bryce; sister in law, Anita Keifer of Iowa City and her beagle, Katy.

June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, a brother Gene Keifer and a sister, Virginia Keifer.
