ELOISE WALKER GRESCHNER, 1917-2005

Eloise Walker Greschner died at home of natural causes on July 28, 2005. Eloise, born in Iowa City, Iowa on March 22, 1917, moved with her family to Tustin as a child and attended Tustin High School. After two years at Santa Ana College, she attended U.C. Berkeley where she received her B.S. degree in Economics and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Eloise married her college sweetheart, William D. Greschner, in 1940. After WWII they returned to Orange County to raise family in Tustin where they made their home for over 50 years. Eloise was an avid golfer and bridge player and excelled at both for many years. She was involved in many community organizations and projects and was a long time member of P.E.O. She also enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent.

In her later years, Eloise spent time with her children and grandchildren and continued to enjoy playing cards even after health reasons forced her to give up golf. She and Bill were happily married for over 64 years and her death followed his by only four months -- the longest period of time the two had ever been apart.

Eloise was a beautiful lady, inside and out, with a clear view of herself and her world. Friends and family alike will miss her quick wit, sense of humor, and incredible vitality. She is survived by her sister, Lenore Brown of Tustin, her son, William F. Greschner of Tustin, her daughter, Patricia Greschner-Nedry of Mission Viejo, granddaughters, Alison and Amanda Greschner, and grandsons Christopher, Patrick and Kevin Treman.

The family will honor her memory in a private life celebration, and requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
