Loyle A. Mueller, 70, of Iowa City, died Friday, November 10, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City after a battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, November 14th at 10:00 AM, at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City with Reverend Kenneth Kuntz officiating. A luncheon will follow in St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Burial will then be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Solon.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 Monday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. There will be a prayer service and celebration of Loyle’s life at 7:30 pm Monday. Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Regina Elementary Technology Program.

Loyle had a 36-year career in Chamber of Commerce Management. He began his career in 1961 as Executive Director of the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce and in 1964 joined the Davenport Chamber of Commerce as Executive Vice President. While in Iowa he served as President of the Iowa Good Roads Association.
In 1988 he became Executive Director of the Pacifica, CA. Chamber of Commerce, retiring in 1997. During his career he served a two-year term as Chairman of the San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce. He was appointed to the District Export Council by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldridge in 1980 serving several times.
Loyle received the highest level of achievement from the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute of Management, The Advanced Certification in Institution Management. He also wrote a weekly column for the Pacifica Tribune.

Shortly after his retirement he and his wife, Mary moved to Iowa City.
Loyle was born September 2, 1936 in Davenport and in 1969 married Mary Jean Kessler, formerly of Solon.
He is survived by his wife Mary who is the Regina Elementary Technology teacher; his sons, Michael of Pacifica, CA: Greg and daughter-in-law Dr. Denisse Mueller and two granddaughters, Anna and Sophie, all of Baltimore, MD.
He is also survived by his brother, John and sister-in-law Joan of Sanger, CA; two sisters, Marilynn Lupton of Charlevoix, MI. and Rita Dunkin of Milford, MA.; his mother-in-law Vera Kessler; sister-in-law, Margaret Edens and brothers-in-law Larry Edens and John Kessler, all of Davenport. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Loyle was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Stella (Manion) Mueller of Davenport.
