Greg L. Krotz, 48, of 442- 4th Avenue died Friday, November 3, 2006 at UIHC following a sudden illness.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Belger officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8pm Monday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service,
where a Vigil Service will be held at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed
Systems Unlimited or Goodwill Industries.

Greg was born January 11, 1958 in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Leo and Dolores Duwa Krotz.

Greg was autistic and despite numerous physical limitations he remained active throughout his life. He attended Hoover Elementary, Nelson School and the University Hospital School. Greg participated for many years in Special Olympics at the regional and state level, where he competed in basketball and bowling. He had been employed by Employment Systems, a division of Systems Unlimited, but in recent years he worked at Goodwill Industries.

Greg loved dancing, listening to the radio, and watching television. He was an avid sports enthusiast. Greg’s favorite teams were the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. He impressed family and friends with his ability to retain sports data, as birthdays and phone numbers. Greg had a strong work ethic, and outgoing personality and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Greg is survived by his mother Delores of Iowa City and his three sisters,
Vicki (Larry) Fountain of Plattsmouth, NE., Jeanne (Robert) Colestock of Berthoud, CO,
and Sheila (Kevin) Seydel of Coralville; six nieces and nephews, Courtney, Bethany,
Samantha, Daniel, Jenna, and Robert; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo and grandparents.
