Charles Lee Martin, 94, of Iowa City died peacefully Tuesday, October 31, 2006.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 3, 2006 at 11am at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Michael Lynch officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30am until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or Cedar Valley Visiting Nurses.

Charles “Lee” was born December 17, 1911 in Thompson, Nebraska. He married Theresa Glasscock on June 14, 1936 in Nemaha, Nebraska.

Charles Lee farmed in Nebraska for many years, prior to moving to the North Liberty area in 1957 where he farmed and was a self-employed carpenter. He was an avid gardener.

Charles Lee is survived by five children, Melba Lyvers of Iowa City, Larry (Mary) Martin of Murfreesboro, TN., Charles (Vicki) Martin of Cedar
Valley, Carol (Gary) Jondle of Iowa City and Dennis (Corky) Martin of Wellman; eight grandchildren, Cindy, Amy, Steven, Michael, Ann, Brian, Nathan and Katie; six great grandchildren; his sister, Ethyl Gallentine of Fairbury, NE..

He was preceded by his wife, Theresa in 2005
and siblings Joseph “Ray”, Hazel,
and Pearl.
