Dennis M. Petersen, 56, of 108 2nd Ave Coralville, died Thursday October 12, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday October 16, 2006 at Lensing Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd, Coralville. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville. Rev. Ken Royar will officiate. Visitation will be from 12-2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, 32 Sturgis Corner Dr Iowa City, IA 52246.

Dennis was born on October 26, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Dewey and Lorraine (Martin) Petersen. He grew up in Tipton, IA before moving to Iowa City. Dennis graduated from City High School in 1968. He worked for Dewey’s Wrecker and Crane Service, Dewey’s Auto Salvage and Petersen Iron and Metal.

Dennis is survived by his grandma Tudi Petersen of Tipton, his father Dewey of Tipton, a brother Mark (Donna) of Iowa City, a sister Deb Boddicker (Gary) of Dana Point, CA, nieces and nephews; Jayson Lanoue (Lauren), Niki Merrit (Jon), Keli Petersen, Caleb Boddicker, Carson Boddicker, and Holli Petersen, a great niece and nephew James and Savannah, many aunts, uncles and cousins, and Evelyn Sterner “Our Guardian Angel”.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother Lorraine Martin Petersen.

Dennis’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff on 5th floor medical ICU at UIHC for taking wonderful care of Dennis and his family.
