Fannie Ann Chervinka, formerly of 1304 Rochester Avenue in Iowa City, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Solon Nursing Care Center. She suffered from Supra Nuclear Palsy for nearly 10 years.

Fannie Ann was born February 24, 1927 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of John G. & Rella (Breeding) Schoenenberger. Raised in Winterset, she graduated from Winterset High School and attended the University of Iowa for 1 year. Moving to Iowa City in 1945, Fannie Ann married Frank J. Chervinka, Jr. August 2, 1946. She was a cashier / bookkeeper for Benner Tea Company from 1961 – 1976 and as an assistant manager for Aldi Foods in Iowa City from 1976 until retiring in 1978.

Fannie Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa City and was a volunteer at the Johnson County Senior Center.

Survivors include her children, Lavina (Ron) Cerny of Lone Tree,
Rebecca (Ronald) Cooper of Tucson, Arizona and William (Belinda) Chervinka of Bellevue, Nebraska; brothers, Saul (Alice) Schoenenberger of Sitka, Alaska and Chester (Virgie) Schoenenberger of Winterset, Iowa; sister, Fern (Duane) Allison of Iowa City; 10 grandchildren, Randy(Beth) Rogers, Tamara(Kevin) LeGrand, Christopher Haman, Jason(Andrea) Cooper, Stephanie(Chase) Byars, Jesse(Julia) Chervinka, Bill Jr. Chervinka, Jennifer(Christopher) Varoz, Mark Chervinka, Zachary Schaefer, 8 great-grandchildren, Kyle LeGrand, Jenna Cooper, Brandon Duprey, Bryce Duprey, Madison Duprey, Dominick Varoz, Bridger Chervinka, and Elijah Chervinka, and several nieces and nephews.

Fannie Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1997, brothers Nicholas & James, a half brother Phillip and a half sister Helen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Iowa City Hospice.
