Saniel LaPlace, 84, of 2968 Goodearth Place NE in Iowa City, died Thursday, September 7, 2006 in his home from complications of pneumonia.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 17th at 3:00 pm at Agudas Achim Congregation, 602 E. Washington Street in Iowa City. The family will then host a reception at One Twenty Six in downtown Iowa City at 4:00 pm.
Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Cedar Park Cemetery in New Jersey.
Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Saniel was born January 5, 1922 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Louis J. & Rose (Schuester) LaPlace. Mr. LaPlace owned and operated L, J & M Laplace Chemical Company with his brothers for many years in New Jersey.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of Iowa City; his daughter Dr. Joan LaPlace of Iowa City and one sister, Frances Winkler of Boca Raton, Florida.
