Jean L. (Auer) Reece, 80, of Coralville died peacefully Monday October 2, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at11am, Friday, October 6, 2006 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Iowa City with Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Garnavillo, Iowa. Friends may call from 4 to 7pm Thursday at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City, where a Vigil Service will be held at 4:30pm.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice.

Jean was born November 23, 1925 in Garnavillo, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Lucy Bandow Moellering. She married Ted Auer in 1944, and in 1965 she married Henry Reece.

Jean was employed at the Johnson County Treasurers Tax Department, until her retirement in 1999.

Jean was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball fan. Jean liked to garden, fish and paint landscapes. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Jean is survived by her four loving children, David (Ann) Auer of Iowa City and their sons, Joe (Kay), John (Sue) and Matt (Tanya); Emerald Blackwell of Coralville and her son, Jeff (Jay); Mary Dvorsky of Coralville and her daughter, Chrissy (Arch); Dennis Auer of Iowa City and his sons, Jason (Erin) and Brian; her sister, Betty Duwe of LaCrosse,WI., her sister-in-law, Doris Moellering of Garnavillo; and her beloved pet, Missy.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two brothers, Bobby and Arthur. Jr and an infant sister.
