William A. Nye, 80, of 602 4th Ave, Coralville, died Monday October 2, 2006 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday October 6th, 2006 at Lensing Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Road, Coralville. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Coralville. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

William was born on August 31, 1926 in Salem, SD to Neiel and Eleanor Schroeder Nye. He married Catherine Moseley on August 16, 1952 in Webster City, IA. William was an accountant manager at Iowa Book & Supply for nine years. He also was a self-employed business owner and land developer. He severed in the Marines during WWII and was active in the Civil Air Patrol.

William is survived by his wife Catherine, eight children; William II of Cantrall, IL, Cathy Nye of Evergreen, CO, Bob of Iowa City, Susan Eggert (Jeff) of Conway, AK, Jim of Coralville, Jerry of Coralville, Tom of Oak Park, CA and Don (Tracy) of Coralville, one sister; Phyllis Rowland of Bettendorf, IA, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his parents.
