Shirley J. Lund, 81, of Cedar Rapids, and a former Iowa City resident, began her eternal journey Tuesday, September 12, 2006 after a long battle with benign essential tremor and COPD.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 11am at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, with burial at Pilot Grove Cemetery, Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.

Shirley was born March 27, 1925 in Mason City, the daughter of Herbert and Agnes Kennison. On February15, 1947 she married Laurids ”Pug” Lund in Mason City.

Shirley dedicated her life to her family and will be greatly missed by anyone who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her husband, L.J. “Pug” of Cedar Rapids; her sister, Ruth Timm of Clear Lake, Iowa; four children, Robert (Vicki) Lund of LaGrande, Oregon, Ronald (Terri) Lund of Corpus Christi, Texas, Linda Baker of Cedar Rapids and Kevin (Phyllis) Lund of Marengo; eleven grandchildren, Kristin, David, Brian, John, Robert, Tiara, Richard, Emily, Jamie, Cory, Angela; five ever so- precious great grandchildren, Haileigh, Jaelin, Kamryn, Patrick and Ryleigh; dear family member, Kay Fisher of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Picabo, her pet companion.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patricia and her brother, Herbie.
