Hon. Moses Bloom died at Iowa City Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Bloom came to Iowa in early days, engaged successfully in the clothing business and soon drifted into politics. He has been mayor of Iowa City several times, a member of the house of representatives and state senator. In the legislature he distinguished himself in many ways. Mr. Bloom was one of the most prominent and wealthiest Hebrews in Iowa. He was only ill a few months. He had just completed the finest residence in Iowa City, when he was attacked with kidney troubles and soon succumbed. ~ The Newton Journal (Iowa), Wednesday, June 21, 1893.
