Lillian M. Rohret, 87, of 4080 Cosgrove Road in Cosgrove, died Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Lantern Park Nursing & Rehab Center in Coralville after a long illness.

Lillian chose to be cremated. Memorial Mass will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cosgrove. The family will greet friends Saturday morning at the church from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A parish rosary will be held starting at 9:00 am. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to St. Peter’s Cemetery. The family will host a luncheon at the parish hall following the burial.

Lillian was born October 9, 1918 in Iowa City, the daughter of Jeremiah & Mary (Fitzpatrick) Lynch. She graduated from St. Patrick High School in Iowa City. On February 7, 1944 she married Harold “Bud” Rohret. Lillian was a homemaker, raising her family and helping to work the family farm with her husband.

She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church & St. Peter’s Altar & Rosary, Catholic Order of Forester’s and had also been a 4-H Leader.

15 grandchildren six great-grandchildren
sister, Kathleen “Kay” O’Brien of Iowa City

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Larry, Tom, Francis, Leo & Donald; sisters, Marcella Hogan, Celeste Pechous, Agnes Streb and Clotilda Langenberg.
