Shirley Jean Turner, 75 of 419 S. First Ave, Iowa City, died Monday July 24, 2006 at her home following a short illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 Thursday July 27, 2006, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, the family will greet friends from 10-12 at the funeral home. Private family burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a general memorial fund has been established in Shirley’s name.

Shirley was born on December 24, 1930 in Iowa City, IA to Fredrick and Evelyn Hines Goss. She graduated from City High School. She was a home health care aid for Visiting Nurses in Iowa City.

Shirley is survived by her five children; Terry Hay of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Cindy Boon (Daniel), Steve Hay (Debbie), Thad Hay (Lori) all of Ft. Madison, IA, Stefanie Turner (Tony Williams) of Iowa City, two brothers; James Goss (Pat) of Iowa City and Bobby Goss (Pat) of Florida, twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Leo and Bud Goss, two sisters; Marjorie Fraiser and Catherine Vrchoticky, a daughter Sherry Turner and a son Douglas Hay.
