Inga R. Wallize, 53, of 1814 Hollywood Blvd. in Iowa City, died Monday, April 17, 2006 in her home after a long illness.

Inga chose to be cremated. Her family will host a greeting time to celebrate her life Friday evening, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Inga was born November 11, 1952 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of John & Susan (West) Wallize. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Iowa in 1975. Inga worked as an oncology nurse at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics until taking medical retirement in 2002. She married Gary Ullrich May 21, 1983 in Ames, Iowa.

Inga is survived by her husband Gary of Iowa City, her children, Susan Ullrich and Jeffrey Ullrich, both of Iowa City; her father & step-mother, John & Dottie Wallize of Ames; two sisters, Pamela Wallize of Minneapolis and Lee Smith & her husband Jude of Dallas, Texas; sisters and brothers in law, Vickie & Mike Ballard of Altoona and Hank Ullrich of Des Moines, a niece Nikki and a nephew Justin and four great nieces & nephews.

Inga was preceded in death by her mother and her father & mother in law.
