Elizabeth “Betty” M. Clements, 77 of Iowa City, died Thursday April 20, 2006 at UIHC following a short illness.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 22, 2006 at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave. Father Jeff Belger will officiate. Betty was cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betty’s name to “Meals on Wheels” 28 S. Linn Street, Iowa City, IA 52240.

Betty was born on September 22, 1928 in Coralville, IA to William and Amelia Weiss Goss. She married Jesse Clements on June 10, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They later divorced.

Betty was a volunteer at the Senior Center in Iowa City for over 14 years in which one year she was the National Volunteer of the year.

She is survived by her four children; Darlene Garringer (Joe) of Iowa City, Mike Clements (Sue) of Iowa City, Evie Clements of Coralville, Jodey Clements of Coralville, five grandchildren: Jamie, Chris, Jennifer, Keith, and Todd; five great grandchildren; Whitney, Collyn, Tristan, Caleb, Crystal.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Nancy Clements, three Brothers; Raymond, Richard, and Walter Goss.
