Ivy Wilkes, 81, of 1211 Muscatine Avenue died peacefully Saturday, April 1, 2006 at home surrounded by family.

A Service to Celebrate Ivy’s life will be held Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 1pm at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Richard Crooks officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be next to husband in Stamford CT. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Pathways Adult Day Care Center or Iowa City Hospice.

Ivy was born February 28, 1925 in Walsall, England, the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth Banks. On September 20, 1947 she married John C. Wilkes.

Ivy had lived for many years in Stamford, CT. and Orange, CA., moving to Iowa City in 1988 to be near family. She had been a volunteer at the Senior Center.

Ivy is survived by two sons; Brian Wilkes and former daughter-in-law Marie Wilkes, both of Iowa City and their children Davey and Andrew, and Cyril (Ann) Wilkes of Stamford, CT. and their children Kevin and Erin; two brothers, Gordon (Ann) Banks
of Idylewild, CA and Cyril (Thelma) Banks of Claremont, CA.

Ivy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister.
