Cynthia “Cindy” K. (Scheetz) Cash, 53, of Cedar Falls, died peacefully Saturday, April 1, 2006 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following an extended illness.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 220 E. Jefferson Street, Iowa City, with Reverend Ken Kuntz officiating. The family will greet friends Monday, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service, Iowa City, and a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or a fund to benefit the Cash Children.

Cindy was born October 20, 1952 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Anne (Knowling) Scheetz. She married Steven M. Cash on September 20, 1980, in Houston, TX. Cindy graduated from Regina High School in 1970, attended Bradley University, and received her R.N. degree from Kirkwood Community College. She provided compassionate care as a nurse in California, Texas, Michigan and Iowa in the areas of critical, cardiac and newborn care, ending her career as a nurse for Cedar Valley Hospice.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Steven, and their three sons: Christopher (C.J.), Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Daniel and Nick of Cedar Falls, Iowa; her parents, Raymond and Anne Scheetz of Coralville; two sisters, Vicki (Kevin) Woods, of Burlington, and their children, Hollyn (Alex) Rodeck of Jacksonville, Florida, Liana Woods of Coralville, and Shannon of Burlington; and Christine Scheetz of Iowa City; one brother, Randy (Linda) Scheetz of Eldridge, and their children, Becca Scheetz and her fiance, Allen Scott of Muscatine, Laura Scheetz of Des Moines, and Timothy Scheetz of Eldridge.

Cindy was preceded in death by her grandparents and her infant brother, David Raymond Scheetz.
