Wednesday, November 11, 1925Funeral of Aged Woman Held Friday
Mrs. Barbara Alberhasky, whose death was recorded herein recently, was laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery, Friday, November 6th, after services conducted by Rev. Dr. C. Rollin Sherck at the Schneider Bros. undertaking parlors.
Mrs. Alberhasky was remarkably advanced in years, having attained the age of ninety-three. She passed away at an hour before midnight on the night of November 3rd, the end coming at her home 813 North Dewey Street. She had been ill three years. Old age was fundamentally the cause, although there were complications. Surviving are her five daughters and several grandchildren. The children are Mesdames Peter Haehn, Pittsburgh, Penn; Katie Jones, Iowa City; Frank Gibson, Iowa City; Henry Boarts, Iowa City; and James Hewitt, Iowa City.
Mrs. Alberhasky was born in Bohemia and spent most of hjer life here. She was good woman, a loving mother, and a true friend. A long and useful life is ended, almost in the shadow of the century milestone. She enjoyed the friendship of many pioneers and younger people also, and they will join in offering sympathy to the bereaved children.
