James and Sophia marriage not in Jefferson County. However did James die about l876 and Mrs Sophia remarry here in l877 to Mr. Whittington? Sophia born l827 died in Jefferson County l8 March l882 but there is no gravestone in our county for her.

In l844 she would have only been l7 years old. Is this her? 1882 IOWA Death records do not tell names of her parents in case you wonder about that.
