In Response To: Mitchell and Eliza ESHELMAN family, 1860s-1880 (James Dunn)

I made a little progress on this query. Mitchel Eshelman was the son of Henry and Sarah ESHELMAN. Henry was born ~1815 in Pennsylvania, and may be related to the other Eshelmans in the area at that time. Sarah was born in Ohio around 1818. I found an item on this web site that a Henry Eshelman was one of the early pioneers. Why didn't he show up in any census? Because they misspelled his name for 40 years: Eshberman (1850), Estleman (1860), Ashelman (1870), Eschelman (1880). Henry died in 1896, and Sarah was living in Washington Twp in Wapello county in 1900.
Their children were: Alfred (1840), Mitchel(1844), Mary J (1846), Elizabeth (1847), Louise (1850, Jefferson IA), Alice (1854), John (Mar 1854), David (Jan 1857), and Agustus (1859). Mother in law Elizabeth Lignure/Lansen (born ~1796 PA) was living with the family in 1860 and 1870.

Looking for marriage records, burial locations, obits, etc on any of the family. Thanks for all the great information on this site!
