In Response To: Missing World War I Veteran? (Rick Shafer)

Rick,
We have three listings online for WWI soldiers:

1 - Soldiers for whom we have photos
2 - A Memorial Day 2015 listing of soldiers
3 - A Veterans Day 2017 listing of soldiers

Samuel is in the second and third listings, but not the first unless he's one of the unidentified photos at the bottom of the list.

Sam's obituary notes that he was a WWI veteran, but doesn't provide further details such as commendations or medals. Sam's gravestone in Evergreen Cemetery notes that he was a Private in the U.S. Army during WWI. Again, no notes of medals or commendations.

I'll transcribe his obituary and link it to his Evergreen Burial Listing later today. Beyond that, if you have stories regarding your great-uncle that you'd like to put online, the best place for that is our Documents Board.
