This is the family I'm searching for! Thanks so much. This is very helpful. I have written to Ms. Baird and await her reply. I hope to be in Iowa in July and will try to get to Jefferson County, as I think it's not far from where I'm staying, perhaps a two-hour drive. Thanks so very much for your quick response. I sincerely appreciate it. Noah Hawthorne of Tennessee was the father of John Hawthorne of Jefferson Co., Iowa. Noah married Mary Morton (Mourton) in Tennessee, and they were very early settlers there. Perhaps they died in Tennessee. Thanks again.
