Hello, "Old Country Snoop!"
I am descended from Noah Bivins' daughter Mary Ann, along with her first husband, George Carolus. I have had quite a time with Mary Ann, as apparently she was married 3 times and I could not trace her for years. Also, 'Carolus' has been spelled: Crolus, Crolis, Crowless, Carlos, etc., in various documents. I don't know if George Carolus died, or they divorced. From what I can gather, Mary Ann then married a Jacob Lawton; then a Jeremiah Hughes. She moved from Jefferson Co. to Van Buren Co., then down to Schuyler Co., MO. Would you be able to find the marriage license for Mary Ann Bivens and George Crolus? They were married 28 March 1849, Jefferson Co.
I, too, live out in the country, so know how it is to "make a run to town." Anything you can find will be much appreciated, and I will pay you accordingly, just let me know. Thank you!
Phyllis Gray Briggs
