I agree with you. I think J W Doughty is from that marriage, but can't prove it conclusively. I am weary of the confusion posed by the Wesley/William differences as well. It's obviously the same person, but you'd sure wonder with all the variations out there, huh? :)
My line comes from Emma Jane, who married "Elza" William Ellsworth Long. You may know they settled over in Mt Ayr. Grandmother was Bessie Mae Long, daughter of these two.
Is there any possibility you have any photos from your side? Anything at all? I think I have found a picture of Emma Jane Doughty from school days in Jefferson County, but it will take some time to put my hands on it.
Was quite exciting to hear back from you. Thanks so much. I am very curious about this line, and hope to stay in touch. I have gone back to school at 58, and it has really interrupted my family history work the last 3 years.
