Hi Verda,

I can not thank you enough for the effort put forth on behalf of our family.

The ancestor that is "our" Julius Lippman was born in Dubuque, 1874, died in 1960, and is buried in Dubuque with his parents and siblings. I would not have imagined there were two Jews (I presume the Julius Lippman you researched was also Jewish) by the name of Julius Lippman in Iowa in the 1880's, but it very much seems to be the case. You have provided clear evidence to me the that Julius Lippman of Jefferson and Henry counties, husband of Sarah Catherine, is not our ancestor. While enormously clarifying, I am sad to learn this is the case, because it appears, unless some evidence emerges to the contrary at some later time, that our Julius Lippman, along with his brother Louis, never married nor had children much less a son, so that the Lippman surname in our family appears to have ended with these two gentlemen. Thank you once again for all your time and effort; it is appreciated more than words can say. Best regards,
- - Mark
