Ron, per your request here is some info that I've found on Ancestry.com via their OneWorldTree entries. I can't vouch for the accuracy of all names and dates, but short of looking up the obituaries for William and Bertha (If obits were published in any Fairfield area newspaper), this is what I've come up with:
You have the dates for William already; his wife Bertha Lamansky Kennedy born Oct. 2, 1886 and died July 21, 1945. No confirmation on location of death.
Children, based on OneWorldTree entries:
- Eugene
-Kenneth
-"Living Kennedy" (living as of the time these entries were made, but perhaps since deceased)
-Marie Kennedy
-William J Kennedy, b.Feb. 8, 1923 in Fairfield, Ia. & died 1969 in Texas. Upwards of eight children, but not listed by names.
-Virgil Kennedy, April 7, 1906 - January 9, 1994
Erma A Kennedy (Mrs. Clarence Moeller), 1910 - Feb. 24, 1986 in Davenport, Ia.
-Marjorie Kennedy, Sept. 15, 1912 in Fairfield - Sept. 13, 1986 in Moline, Illinois.It appears like the bulk of the adult children relocated to the Davenport/Rock Island/Moline area of Iowa/Illinois, so those would be your best bets to look for subsequent generations.
There is probably ample more information on Ancestry.com for some of these individuals if you have access to a subscription to it, or try out a free trial period.
It is possible that there are local obits for William James Kennedy and his wife Bertha if they died in Jefferson county, but I would have my doubts that there would be local obits for the adult children since they seem to have died elsewhere and would likely not have a reason to publish a Fairfield area obituary.
