TEMPLETON

I just went and I still wasn't able to find my 3rd great-grandparents burial. I don't know if you could help with the research you've done or not. Their names are Benjamin Stewart Templeton & Margaret Hill Templeton. I know that Benjamin was living in Eddyville (going off memory) in Wapello Co., & then a couple weeks before his death he moved in with his son-in-law Mr. Alender (sp?) who lived in Salina, Jefferson Co. He died in Salina. I've seen his obit. So I assumed that he was buried in the Salina Cemetery. If so then I didn't find a stone. I also looked in the high grasses at Berry-Peterson & looked at Courtney. I did happen to find his son-in-law & his daughter's tombstones at Upper Richwoods Cemetery, but I still didn't see Benjamin's or Margaret's. So I'm clueless if they either don't have a stone, or it's buried, or even at what cemetery they'd be at (in or around Salina, or perhaps taken back to where he resided just a few weeks earlier?) I wasn't able to look in any of the cemeteries around Eddyville. If you can help great, if you can't it's no big deal. I believe time will tell. I spent 11-12 years, 1 trip by me to IA & 1 trip by mom to IA looking for info on his daughter & her burial, my 2nd great-grandmother. We learned were she was buried, but on both trips couldn't find her stone. The sexton even helped my mom look the 2nd time. Just about a month ago, the sexton went digging around where he thought her stone should be and unearthed it! So this trip to IA, we were able to finally see it!

Hope somebody can help me out. Please do post directly to this board if info for Benjamin or his wife Margaret is found. Help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks!
Sarah
