Louis A. SHEPHERD, well known pioneer of Wapello County, died Tues. at his home six miles north of Batavia, age 74.

Survived by children: Anna SHEPHERD at home; Mrs. Edda PARKER of Batavia; and Mrs. Ella PARKER, Des Moines; also five stepchildren: Emma PAYNE at home, Mrs. Belle STERNER and Henry PAYNE of Batavia, James W. PAYNE of Colorado and G. Wm. PAYNE of Kansas.
