BATAVIA, Ia. Mrs. C. E. NELSON, 78, longtime resident of Batavia, died Mon. 8:45 p.m. at Jefferson County Hospital. Bur. Batavia Cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home.

Margaret REDMON was born Nov. 24, 1884, at Elizabethtown, Ky., daughter of Rusah and Nancy CRADY REDMON; married Carl Edward NELSON May 25, 1910. They sent (sic) their entire married life in Batavia where NELSON engaged in the grocery business for many years.

Surviving are husband and children: Mrs. William COUNTRYMAN, Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. Theodore SHIMKUS, Southboro, Mass.; Lt. Cmdr. R. E. NELSON, Key West, Fla.; Raymond NELSON, Branson, Mo.; and O. B. NELSON, Fairfield; 16 grandchildren, 3 grgrchn, and one sister Mrs. Earl WARD, Batavia. Member Batavia Christian Church. Preceded by seven brothers and one sister.
