Miss Blanche KURTZ, age 25 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter H. KURTZ of the Pleasant Plain community died Sunday night between 9 and 10 o'clock at the St. Joseph's hospital in Ottumwa, where she was in training (note: in Wapello Co., IA). She had not been in the best of health but was on duty until about 24 hours before her death. She would have finished her training in 3½ months. Her death resulted from diabetes. She is survived by her parents and the following brothers and sisters, Miss Mae KURTZ of Burlington, Miss Marjorie KURTZ of Des Moines, and Jerome, Victor and Betty at home. Funeral services will be held at the St. Joseph's church at Pleasant Plain Wednesday at 10 o'clock.
