Page 1, Column 6Plan GEVOCK Rites At East Pleasant Plain
BRIGHTON -- Joseph F. GEVOCK, 59, retired farmer of East Pleasant Plain died at 1:15 p.m. Monday at his home in East Pleasant Plain. He had been an invalid 10 years and bedfast the last five years.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St Josehp's (sic) Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain with the Rev. Paul Wetzstein in charge. The body is at the Hoskins Funeral Home in Brighton where the rosary will be recited at 8:45 tonight. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mr. GEVOCK was born Aug. 23, 1896 near East Pleasant Plain, the son the Nicholas and Agget NAGACESKE GEVOCK. He was married Sept. 14, 1920 at St. Mary's Polish Catholic Church southwest of Brighton to Helen ROGALL, who survives.
The couple started housekeeping on a farm near Pleasant Plain and moved to East Pleasant Plain 10 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Roman of near East Pleasant Plain; four grandsons, five brothers, Adam of California, Thomas of Muscatine, Vincent and Frank near Brighton and Alex of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters. He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Legion Post at Brighton and St. Joseph's Catholic Church at East Pleasant Plain.
